Little Review of Dell Studio XPS 16
Dell is recognized more for its generic looking laptops than its great deals, which is really a shame sometimes. However, the Dell Studio XPS 16 is 1 from the few Dell laptops to buck the trend as it incorporates black leather having a slick combination of glossy black chassis and glossy white trim. Rather than wrap the entire cover with leather, Dell have placed the black leather around the hinge area, creating a nicer general grip when carrying around the large laptop and reducing wear and tear on the actual hinge. Although the white trim does add a nice bit of contrast everything else is glossy piano black for any stylish feel to it.
Thankfully, the Dell Studio XPS 16's chassis is surprisingly solid for such a thin desktop replacement laptop while the 16-inch display provides 1080p Full HD resolutions. Despite the large chassis size, Dell has opted for a big backlit keyboard minus the numeric keypad, leaving the keyboard extremely comfortable to use. The track-pad at the bottom is slick and responsive while touch-sensitive controls line the top of the keyboard bezel. The laptop computer is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 processor with 4GB of performance DDR3 memory. Featuring ATI Radeon HD 3670 discrete graphics along with a 4X Blu-ray combo drive, the laptop can handle practically anything without breaking a sweat. A 320GB hard disk drive running at 7200RPM rounds up this set of performance components along with a choice between 6-cell and 9-cell batteries.
The Dell Studio XPS sixteen weighs in at 6.53 pounds which isn't bad at all for such a big laptop but definitely something you'd maintain in one place rather than carry it about. The laptop has great built-in speakers along with a number of other functions including a TV Tuner antenna jack, a HDMI port, a 2MP web-cam, 1 Display Port along with a USB/eSATA combo port. Other features include wireless wi-fi, a VGA port, two USB ports, an Ethernet LAN port, an Express Card slot, a FireWire port and a card reader.
Performance for the Dell Studio XPS sixteen is excellent, effortlessly handling all office applications, video and image editing, full HD 1080p videos, 3D rendering and mid-range gaming. It does get fairly hot though, so expect to get a good notebook cooler while you are at it. Battery life is as expected with the 6-cell battery delivering up to two hours although the 9-cell battery delivers close to three hours which is fantastic for any laptop computer this size but certainly adds on the poundage. Overall, the Dell Studio XPS sixteen is an outstanding performance 16-inch laptop computer that looks as awesome because it performs making it ideal for the gamer and performance laptop computer user.

Judging from the specs below the MoBo and processor should run Windows 7 3bit. You will need 2gb DDR RAM for good performance of Win 7. You have an AGP video card slot and there are not many "good" AGP video cards at least for gaming but they will run Windows 7 OK.
