Latitude Z600 Review
Dell Latitude Z 600 Review
This business laptop is the world thinnest 16 in laptop at the time of the review. The laptop measures 0.59" in height. It has the possibility to connect wirelessly to an external screen, hard drive, keyboard and any USB compatible device making it an amazing business travelling partner. It also has an innovative touch sensor feature which proves to be useless with time.

Build and Design
The Latitude Z600 has a better build quality than most latitude systems and is comparable to the Adamo build quality. The hull of the PC is covered with a touch friendly "leather" like texture. The plum colored texture makes it an eye-catching design which does not leave fingerprints. This laptop will turn heads and be ready to be asked who makes such a sexy notebook.
The Latitude Z600 comes with a backlit keyboard which really helps while travelling. There is nothing better than seeing your keys in a dim lit airplane. The keyboard's quality is also great the overall design makes you think that Apple built the notebook not Dell.
Screen
The 15.6" LED backlit anti-glare panel is pleasant to look at and bright making it a great work buddy. The colors are good and well represented, the color saturation is average. Viewing angles are average but it could also be seen as an advantage for a travelling business man as to not share with stranger confidential data.
Keyboard, Touchpad and Speakers
The keyboard feels like the rubbery finish used on most of the laptop. It is soft to the touch, quiet and very responsive.
The touchpad is great to the touch, responsive and of decent size making it easy to use on the go.
The speakers are below average for a 16" machine but again it's the world thinnest 16" laptop and some concessions have to be made.
Ports and Features
The Latitude Z600 offers two USB 2.0 ports, one display port and one e-sata port (Shared with a USB port). It's on the low side but we would not expect much more from this machine due to the heights.
As mentioned earlier the two main features of this PC is the touch sensitive sensors on the right frame of the screen and the wireless docking enabling you to wirelessly connect and external monitor, printers, external hard drives and anything USB compatible.
Performance and Benchmarks
The Latitude Z600 is not a powerhouse wonder but has great performance for its size. It's boot time is 52 seconds and score 856 in 3D Mark 06.
64GB SSD Benchmark
Heat and Noise
The Latitude Z600 generates little heat and makes no noise.
Battery Life
The Latitude Z600 has quite some impressive battery life with an average of 4:36 hours using the extended battery. Charge time is about 5 hours for a full charge.
Conclusion
The Latitude Z600 is a great travelling companion as well as an amazing business notebook. It combines a 15.6" screen with the chassis weight and height of an 11" netbook. There is not much more to say. The price is slightly high for the hardware and the options such as the wireless docking station is expensive currently selling at $359.00. Overall it is one of the best 16" available today for the working and travelling business man.
