What computer should I get?
I am thinking of buying a used desktop PC because my laptop isnt enough. My laptop is vista; intel pentium dual core; 2.0ghz; 2gb ram, 160gb hdd and its not enough. I dont have a lot of money to spend at once so im looking on craigslist for something i can buy and fix up if needed. So i looked and i found a Dell GX280 w/ 3.2ghz; 1.5gb ram; 160gb hdd for $80. what do you think? i think it has xp pro so could i get vista or 7on it? any other suggestions? thanks 
ok so im not messing with my laptop now i want something in addition. and im not using it for gaming but my usual moderate usage would be one or two MS office documents and like 50 internet tabs open at a time.
Now im not doing this over night i would like to do a little at a time as a side project.
Answer:
The desktop that you're looking at isn't even as good as your laptop... I would simply get an external HD for now and save my money and buy or build a decent desktop. I would recommend upgrading your laptop to Windows 7. You'd be surprised how much better it will run just from doing that.
On a side note, I've picked up a computer that's about as good as that Dell desktop on the side of the road... Paying $80, unless it has a good monitor, is pretty much a waste of money.
