The dell optiplex is very practical as it is quick and takes up less space but I've had some problems with them so I'm not sure what my consesus is. The problems I had however were related to the harddrives. Dell tends to install defective or cheaper quality drives in them. I have a regular desktop tower and I've had no problems with that one. The one on my optiplex, I had to have it replaced about 3 times.
